Choosing a Baby Swing
You may think choosing a swing is easy but you would be wrong! There are literally hundreds available ranging from about £20 all the way to a few hundred pounds.
The first thing you will want to decide is how much you want to spend on a baby swing. You don’t have to spend hundreds for a quality swing, there are many in the £50 – £90 range that will suit your needs.
The second thing you should consider is the brand of the swing. The cheap ones from your local supermarket are normally poor quality and aren’t that well made. You would be better off buying one made by an established brand such as Fisher-Price or Graco.
The next thing to look for is the list of features on the baby swing. Many have sounds affects and music which is great for your baby as it helps them with their auditory skills. The swinging motion and speed is another feature which you should consider, usually you will find that the more the swing costs, the more swing speeds it has.
Some swings have removable covers which are machine washable, something which is very important! Also, if you are on a budget you may want to check to see if batteries are included – a pack of batteries can add a few pounds onto the price!
